Providing Prenatal and Postpartum
Nutrition Support

Why is nutrition so important?

Pregnancy, birth, and postpartum are some of the biggest physical transitions your body will ever experience—and yet, so much of the focus is placed on getting through pregnancy and preparing for birth. What happens after the baby arrives deserves just as much attention.

The physical and mental recovery process that we all go through after a birth can be greatly impacted by what we are eating, and what we aren't.

Postpartum is a time when your body is working incredibly hard to heal, recover, regulate hormones, replenish nutrients -- nutrition plays such an important role in this stage, and simple choices can have significant impact when it comes to getting our bodies and minds back on track.

Food provides the building blocks your body needs for healing, energy, hormone production, immune function, digestion, and recovery. When your body has been depleted during pregnancy and birth, simply going back to your "normal" way of eating may not be enough to replenish what you've used.

Postpartum nutrition doesn't have to be about following another restrictive diet or trying to achieve some perfect version of wellness -- it's about nourishment.

It's about understanding what your body needs, learning how to get those nutrients from real food, in a way that your body will actually be able to absorb what you're putting into it, and finding practical ways to make that happen when you're exhausted, overwhelmed, and caring for a new baby.

Knowing that you should eat well is one thing.

Knowing what to eat, how to prepare it, and how to make it work in your actual postpartum life is something completely different.

That's where I come in.

My approach combines my experience as a DONA certified postpartum doula with my passion for nutrition to help you understand your body's nutritional needs and create realistic strategies for nourishing yourself during this incredibly important transition.

Whether you're preparing for postpartum, newly postpartum, or years beyond your baby's birth and still feeling the effects of depletion, it's never too late to start prioritizing your nourishment.

"We can’t recommend Jenny enough! She was an absolute lifesaver during those early weeks with our newborn. Not only did she take amazing care of our little one at night, but she also went above and beyond by bringing us food, which was such a thoughtful touch. Jenny is caring, knowledgeable, and genuinely wonderful to have around. We felt so comfortable with her, and she made those sleepless nights so much easier. If you’re looking for someone who truly cares and will make your life easier, Jenny is your go-to doula!"

Rebecca

“Jenny was a lifeboat when I felt like I was drowning. As an older first-time mom recovering from a c-section and tripple feeding, I was really struggling. Jenny swooped in and provided practical support, gentle encouragement, and a shoulder to cry on. My only regret was not hiring her sooner!"

Ryan

"As a new father I can't express how great it was to have RMPC by my side. Jenny provided invaluable support after the arrival of our son. From the moment we met Jenny, her warmth and expertise immediately put us at ease. As a first-time father, I was navigating uncharted waters, but Jenny's guidance and encouragement were instrumental in helping me feel confident and prepared every step of the way. Jenny was paramount in weeding through the "old wives tales" and countless conflicting sources on the internet. Someone knowledgeable, authentic and caring who you can rely on during this adventure is priceless."
